Summer Time

The last month has been simmering hot, about 31 Celsius in average. Apparently we had a 39 degree some time ago. That’s getting rather hot. Thankfully, air conditioning is widespread. Every apartment building is covered with them. It rains a bit more often as well although it’s not always natural. They provoke it by seeding the clouds with silver iodine. It apparently condenses them and make it rain, helping ridding the sky from the excess smog and pollution by the same token. It’s needless to say that they’ll be doing a lot of that during the soon coming Olympics.

In less than a month already. When I first got here, it was 300 and some days still to go. Time flies. It’s looking like I’ll be pretty busy as well during August. I finally just signed a contract with Jet Set Sports (http://www.jetsetsports.com/), the official Olympic host. They are the ones that welcome and organise the trip for the CEO’s of the major Olympic sponsors. My schedule has not yet been firmly established but it’s promising to be quite busy. I probably won’t be able to see any of the sporting events first hand. It will mostly be following them around to various corporate events, parties, dinners and son on to take souvenir photos.

Other than that well I’ve given my first official photography class. A friend of mine organised it. We are supposed to give a second one this upcoming week-end. Last time, there were only 5 students so hopefully there’ll be a few more this time. Another news, I contributed to La Presse newspaper for the first time. I don’t know exactly when it’ll be published but for those of you, who are in Quebec, keep an eye out. I can’t say too much but the article is about trees and China.

I’m going to leave it on a series of photos taken in a Chinese Market not too far from my home. They sell just about everything one can imagine and much more.

I think these are algue, still dripping fresh, appetizing isn't?

That guy was playing with his knife while staring at me quite intensely.

These are live (or somewhat live) crabs with their claws tied up. And below are the biggest calamari that I had ever seen.
